Well, there we go, our glorious semi-final defeat rolled around again.
The good things though are that we actually made this into a real game – a poor collapse of the previously always reliable kiwi tail meant the last 6 wickets fell for just 25 runs. Normally the tail in a kiwi lineup provides the bulk of the runs so we should really have posted 250-260 on that pitch today. It looked tricky out there and scoring was never fluent but just an ounce of luck and we would have had at least 20 more runs. About what would have been needed to turn this game from a loss to a win.
Don’t be confused here, we were so close to winning this one.
