Went to see Sea Girls in Oxford last Friday upstairs at the O2 Academy 2 (which is much better than the packed and claustrophobic downstairs). Lovely set by these boys touring in support of their second album, Homesick. Short (just the 10 songs) but lively and fun. They got the crowd bouncing and we all had an excellent night. I loved the lead singer Henry’s enthusiasm for a connection with the audience, often disappearing and popping up amongst us all again. And the guitarist was awesome – what a force to be reckoned with. All floppy hair and soaring notes. They’re a great band to watch and the songs live sound exactly as good as they do recorded plus the added bonus of mega atmosphere from a pogo-ing crowd.
Dave says Thumbs Up, watch them live where you can. 5 Stars.
